Who can register as a voter?
Any Indian citizen who is 18 years or older as on the qualifying date (1 January of the year) and is ordinarily resident in a constituency can register. You cannot be enrolled in more than one place.
How to register as a new voter (Form 6)
- Create an account / log in at voters.eci.gov.in with your mobile number.
- Select “New registration for general electors (Form 6)”.
- Fill in your personal details, address, and upload a passport-size photo, an identity/age proof and an address proof.
- Submit. You get a reference number to track the application; after verification by the Booth Level Officer (BLO), your name is added and EPIC issued.
How to download your e-EPIC
- Log in to the Voter Services Portal and click “e-EPIC Download”.
- Enter your EPIC number or Form reference number and select your state.
- Verify OTP on your registered mobile and download the PDF. If your mobile isn’t registered, first do KYC to enable download.
How to check your name in the voter list
Use the “Search in Electoral Roll” option — search by details, by EPIC number, or by mobile — to confirm your name, part number and polling booth before elections.
Correcting details or shifting address
- Form 8 — correction of entries, replacement of card, or shifting within/outside the constituency.
